Features

Engine #1 is a 2009 Sutphen Class "A" Fire Pumper. It responds out of Main-Transit Fire Station No. 1, and features:

  • an 8 firefighter cab
  • self contained breathing apparatus (air packs) for each firefighter riding on the engine
  • 1,500 gallon per minute top mount Hale pump,
  • 750-gallon water tank,
  • a 30-gallon foam tank filled with F-500 foam and
  • an 8,000 watt Smart Power Pro generator powering six 750-watt flood lights.
  • EMS equipment and a defibrillator

With almost a half-mile of hose on board which includes 1,000 feet of 5-inch diameter supply hose and numerous pre-connected attack hose lines, Engine 1 is equipped to handle any firematic situation, utilizing a large array of tools including but not limited to:

  • large exhaust ventilation fans
  • electric cord reels
  • hose couplings
  • EMS equipment and a defibrillator

Ladder Truck #6 is a 2003 American LaFrance/R.D. Murray/L.T.I. 100' mid mount aerial ladder truck. It responds out of Main-Transit Fire Station No. 1, and features:

  • An air-conditioned 6 Firefighter cab
  • 6 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (air packs) for each responding Firefighter.
  • A pre-piped waterway that extends up the side of the ladder for use as a master water stream in cases of large fires
  • A pre-piped breathing air, mounted to the side of the ladder, for use by the ladder operator at the base of the aerial ladder, and for the Firefighter at the top of the ladder
  • Over 150 feet of ground ladders
  • 4 high-powered smoke ejectors
  • 2 WAP water vacuums for salvage operations
  • A 15,000-watt AMPS generator, which power numerous high-powered lights, which give 360 degrees of lighting at scenes of emergencies

Rescue #4 is a 2021 four wheel drive Chevrolet SIlverado 2500 with seating for five firefighters.

It carries a full complement of emergency medical equipment including a defib unit and basic life support equipment. This vehicle responds to all EMS calls and motor vehicle accidents out of Station 1.

Rescue #5 is 2009 Sutphen Heavy Rescue truck.  Rescue 5 features seating for eight firefighters and responds out of Main-Transit Fire Station No. 1. Its other features include:

  • A 25,000 watt Hydraulic P.T.O. driven generator
  • Command roof mounted scene lights along with a command roof mounted traffic direction arrow stick
  • Holmatro Rescue Tools, Fire/EMS mass casualty and rescue equipment
  • Bullard T-3 thermal imaging camera for searching for trapped victims in smoke and fire conditions
  • 6 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (air packs)
  • 2 downed Firefighter air packs
  • Internal speedy-dry absorbent hopper

Rescue #7 is a 2021 four wheel drive Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with seating for five firefighters.

It carries a full array of emergency medical equipment including a defibrillator unit.  Rescue 7 responds to all emergency medical calls and motor vehicle accidents out of Main-Transit Station No 2.

Features

Utility 5-1 is a 2006 Ford F-350 pick-up truck, featuring a Super Duty frame with a fully boxed front section for strength and torsional stiffness.

The truck primarily functions as an all-purpose utility vehicle for work details throughout the fire district. 5-1 carries emergency medical supplies and a set of fire gear. It is also used to haul the Firematic Drill Team trailers.

Features
Utility 7-1 is a 2013 C Chevrolet Express 3500. This vehicle can transport up to 15 passengers.

Car 9 is one of three 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Rescue Units. All units are driven by the respective Chief, and features:

  • Firefighter Personal Protective Gear
  • Self contained breathing apparatus (air pack) for the Incident Commander
  • EMS Equipment including a Defibrillator
  • Carbon Monoxide detector
  • Forcible entry tools

Our 1923 Ford Model T Chemical Truck was Main-Transit's very first pumper!

Thanks to life member Ron "Chippy" Chipman it remains in excellent condition at Station 1. This 81 year-old truck is still driven at all of our local parades.
